Professional illustrator showcasing creative artwork.

Hello
I am a Florida-based artist and former Florida State University student who pursued a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art. Since childhood, I have enjoyed creative pursuits of all kinds. It wasn't until my early twenties that I realized I wanted to turn my passion for art into a lifelong career. I focus my artistic abilities into designing characters and clothing and visually expressing my experiences as an autistic woman.
My Story
I always felt different growing up, and this feeling intensified as I grew older. My inability to comprehend common social nuances, my extreme reactions to sounds, tastes, and textures that I didn’t like, and my tendencies to become overwhelmingly obsessed with things I enjoyed were all points of insecurity for me. When I was 19 years old, I was diagnosed with autism, and I finally understood why I felt so different. Through my diagnosis, I was able to find others like me and truly appreciate the parts of myself I once despised. It was thanks also to my diagnosis that I could look at the problems my disability presented me with a new and deeper understanding of them.
Through the pieces presented here, I seek to explore my experiences, both positive and negative, as a late-diagnosed autistic woman. In my drawings, I like to capitalize on the freedom that a blank canvas provides. I enjoy incorporating surreal fictional elements into my illustrations to emphasize a sense of “social othering” or feeling “monstrous” for being different.
